Sneaker Con
A big sneaker experience for the biggest sneaker event.
Overview
Sneaker Con, the world’s biggest sneaker event, needed to bring their authority, energy, style, and loyal following to a digital platform. It needed to be as big as the event itself--more than just a home for sneaker-content.
They needed one place for all aspects of their brand: the physical events, a vibrant community of sneakerheads, and a peer-to-peer marketplace that supported both buyers and sellers--all in a style that was legitimately Sneakercon. The site also had to support a robust amount of content, offer multiple-event ticketing, and help drive SEO. How do you build something so comprehensive and maintain their distinct identity?
Our Role

Product design
The home for the real sneaker-heads
While sneaker-culture has become ubiquitous over the past decade, Sneaker Con remains the original place for real sneaker-heads. We carefully designed the experience to retain that position of authority and a strong sense of style. Graphically we used a clean and minimal approach to let the products stand out and convey their legitimacy. This was balanced with strong pops of color and illustration to speak the language of Streets meet Sneaker culture.

Product design
A shopping experience for both buyers and sellers
Many e-commerce sites prioritize the buyer experience over the sellers’. We knew both were critical to the platform’s success, as we needed sneaker sellers to choose to sell with Sneaker Con. We created a robust seller dashboard where they can maintain and sell their collections. It was important that products look great and are verified, so our platform allows for multiple images and descriptors, plus an online ‘legit check’ verification engine.

Connecting online & IRL
The iOS app created a more seamless experience between the shows and the online marketplace. Someone can now attend the show with their shoe, have it ‘legit checked’ right there, and then sell it directly through the app. Already verified, the shoe then can be shipped directly to the purchaser, creating a faster, better selling and buying experience.

More than just an e-commerce site
The site needed to be more than just a peer-to-peer marketplace. The UX team worked to ensure the platform seamlessly integrated ticketing for events, event information, and support, as well as loads of sneaker-content to drive SEO. And we worked on the entire stack, building an entirely new web platform, and updating with a bespoke e-commerce back-end. NBD.
